Two Lips has given a five-lip (out of five) review of my vampire novel Beside the Darker Shore, saying "It is not your usual vampire tale. There is no sex in the book, per se, but it is one of the most powerfully sensual books I have read. When humans offer their blood to vampires, the eroticism of the bloodletting has no need for sex."
The reviewer goes on to say of the novel's characters, "While there are villains in Beside the Darker Shore, they are not the stereotypical villains of vampire novels. There was no right or wrong. There is an air of 'what is best for me' for each character. What is best for a character also works for the [peaceful vampire] community. Arturo and Stephen come back to destroy what David and Alec have built in Boston although, in a way, they are trying to bring back the men to their lives that give their lives the meaning they need and want."
The review ends asking for a sequel (which I think I'd better start writing): "Beside the Darker Shore is a fine read. I hope Ms. Esposito is planning a sequel or prequel. There are many unanswered questions and these are characters that have not left my mind since I finished the book."

Hearty congratulations, Patricia! I'm only about a third of the way through BTDS so far, but I love your poetic, atmospheric style and am eager to see how this extremely unusual political thriller/love story/vampire tale plays out!
